What type of sponge is EPDM?
EPDM Rubber Foam Sheet
EPDM sponge rubber (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) is a closed cell sponge usually manufactured black. The main properties of EPDM sponge sheets are its excellent ozone, UV and weather and general resistance which makes this grade of material ideally suited for outdoor and automotive use.
Sponge EPDM Sheeting exhibits a temperature range (-40 ˚C + 110˚C, depending on grade) which makes this material the ideal solution to seal outdoor applications for dust and moisture protection.
EPDM closed cell sponge rubber sheeting benefits very good aging properties, compressibility, and shows an excellent resistance to ozone and oxidation, hot water, as well as to light to medium concentration alkali & acids. These sheets are very light-weight and provide good thermal, sound (noise) and vibration insulation.
EPDM sponge rubber is manufactured in block form in a range of densities and specifications and can be easily split and joined to produce rolls or sheets at a range of thicknesses from 1.5mm up to 38mm ready for use in a wide range of applications.
Advantages of the EPDM Sponge rubber :
Excellent ozone and UV resistance

NBR Foam is a versatile and durable material that has a range of properties and benefits that make it an excellent choice for various applications. | PU foam Polyurethane Foam is a CFC-free, rigid, closed-cell, flame-retardant foam core and has a density of 6 pounds per cubic foot . It exhibits a high strength-to-weight ratio due to its cellular structure and cross-linked resin. Because of its closed-cell structure, Polyurethane Foam has great resistance to water absorption, and will not swell, crack, or split on exposure to water. |
